Four Research Scholarships for 2026
Once a year, the One Health Platform awards four scholarships to young international researchers. The research scholarships are intended to facilitate the exchange of scientific techniques and methods, as well as more intensive knowledge transfer and the strengthening of international relations. The focus is on international networking and interdisciplinary exchange in line with the One Health concept.
The scholarships aim to help young researchers establish initial contacts with German institutions/institutes/universities. Applicants should preferably not have worked for the institute before. The scholarship is not intended for stays that could be financed by other means.
The application should clearly demonstrate the relevance of the research work to the One Health approach.
Due to limited funds, the award is restricted to four scholarships per year. We therefore kindly request that you refrain from making further enquiries. The applicant did not receive a grant in the preceding year.
Grantees agree to submit a short report at the end of their stay.
Period:
- up to 4 months
- The scholarship holder agrees the period with the host institution.
- The period may also extend into 2027, but by no more than 1 month (until January 2027).
Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the scientific quality of the abstract, how relevant the research is to the One Health approach, to what extent is the research work compatible with the research spectrum of the host institution and what contribution the applicant could make to the International One Health Symposium 2026.
Target groups
Postdocs and PhD - We want to give a chance for postdocs at the beginning of their research work.
The PhD should have a maximum of 5 years research experience since completing the PhD.
Parental leave is creditable, i.e. it is added to the period of research work.
Requirements
Applicants must be working at a recognized scientific institution outside Germany.
The research focus must be in the field of One Health.
