Application for 10 travel grants from Latin America to participate in the International One Health Symposium
The One Health Platform is pleased to announce that we are awarding travel grants for international researchers. These scholarships are intended to enable outstanding young scientists from Latin America to participate in the upcoming International One Health Symposium (5-7 October 2026, Berlin) and to share their expertise and research results. Up to 10 travel grants can be awarded this year.
Regarding funding, the symposium intends to focus on different regions of the world in future years. This year, the focus is on Latin America. With this in mind, we are promoting young scientists from this region in particular.
Target groups
We want to provide an opportunity for early-career postdocs. Applicants should have ideally no more than five years of research experience since completing their PhD.
In exceptional cases, support may also be granted to Master's students whose thesis focuses on One Health-related topics and who can demonstrate substantial research experience in low-income settings acquired during their Bachelor's studies.
Parental leave is creditable, i.e. it is added to the period of research work.
Requirements
· Applicants must be working at a recognized scientific institution in Latin America.
· The research focus must be in the field of One Health
· The selected researchers are expected to play an active role in the symposium (i.e., poster presentation). Please upload your abstract directly via the symposium website.
Finances
The scholarship covers the costs of the outward and return flight, the accomodation during the symposium (4-8 October) and the symposium registration fee.
Flights and accomodation will be booked directly by the OHP!
The event organiser will settle the registration fees for the symposium directly with the One Health Platform.
Duration of Stay
In order to allow for the opportunity to establish contact with German research institutions, arrival and departure to and from Germany may take place between 3 October and 11 October 2026 (including arrival and departure days). Please briefly describe how you intend to utilise your time outside the symposium (e.g. which institute you will visit). In this case, we can finance a flat rate of €300 for accommodation.
